A sensible choice for smaller clear-outs
Mini skips are designed for jobs that produce more waste than a few bin bags but do not justify a larger container. They are often a good fit for a shed clear-out, decluttering before a move, a small bathroom refresh, garden tidy-up or light DIY work.
Because the footprint is smaller, a mini skip can also be easier to position on tighter driveways and residential properties. Access still matters, so tell us if the road is narrow, parking is restricted or the skip has to pass through a gate or shared entrance.
What can go in a mini skip?
General household items, non-hazardous renovation waste and many garden materials can usually be accepted. Heavy waste can reach the skip weight limit surprisingly quickly, so if you have a lot of soil, concrete, bricks or rubble, ask before booking. Plasterboard, fridges, mattresses and certain other items can require separate handling or an extra charge.
Mini skip hire for Cardiff homes and rental properties
For homeowners, a mini skip gives you a fixed place to put waste while you work instead of making repeated tip runs. For landlords and letting agents, it can be useful between tenancies when a full property clearance is not required. We serve Cardiff as well as Barry, Penarth, the Vale of Glamorgan, Newport and other nearby areas.
Frequently asked questions
How big is a mini skip?
Mini skips are one of the smaller skip options. Exact capacity can vary, so confirm the available size when you request a quote.
Is a mini skip suitable for a bathroom refit?
Often yes for a smaller bathroom project, but the right size depends on the amount of sanitaryware, tiles, packaging and rubble involved.
Can I put soil or rubble in a mini skip?
Often in limited quantities, but heavy materials should be declared so the correct skip and weight limits can be confirmed.
